Harvest Crossing is an initiative for affordable homes and community space that grew out of the United Church of Underhill and will take a community to achieve.
Private donations and grants are essential to keeping costs low, and the savings are passed on to future homeowners through Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity. Learn more about our funders, donors, and how to be a part of this community effort.
Why give?
“After 7 years of renting, my family has been looking to buy our forever home. Unfortunately, due to lack of inventory and inflated prices we’ve been unable to find anything in Underhill. Our budget is higher than most first time buyers, but we’ve been consistently outbid when something has become available in the area. ”
“Everyone’s talking about the need for affordable places to live, yet few groups step forward to lead the charge. This grassroots, community-based approach with an experienced partner is a creative solution. I am happy to support Harvest Crossing with my prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.”
“I think that more affordable housing would do more than just help a more diverse community evolve here - it would also be a gigantic step towards showing the people who grew up here that they’re still welcome. It’s a way to show that we value our people more than our property. ”
“We support the Harvest Crossing project and look forward to welcoming and sharing this beautiful place with new neighbors.”
