From Bird Houses to Upcoming DRB Hearing

Our team has been bustling with activity preparing site plans, fundraising, and connecting with local groups that want to be involved in one way or another. Building bird houses for the new families was an activity our church did earlier this year that involved even our youngsters. A new house for a family and a new house for some feathered friends. 

The Underhill Development Review Board gave a nod to the Sketch Plan Review, allowing our project to progress to the Preliminary Hearing, which will be held on July 1st. Site plans and engineering details are included in the materials posted on the Town website. This will be an important hearing for those interested in supporting these homes.

We have been so pleased at the financial support offered by our two local banks: the Community Bank and the Union Bank. They recognize the value of new homes in our community and have made sizeable donations. 

By July 11th we should know if we are to receive a large grant from the Vermont Community Development Program. Receipt of this Implementation Grant will launch us close to our fundraising goal and allow us to start this project for real.
